Character List

Esther- Female main character, best friends with a variant and a town outcast named Joseph; simple looking, doesn't conform to societies rule. Usually wore a red hoodie to hide herself away from the sun, unlike the white robes everyone else wore, and her hair always in a matted mess. 

Skar- Variant girl, Esther's best friend, has valuable survival instincts.

Caleb- Male main character, new guy in Prin with valuable fighting skills, dark past, has a son that was taken, becomes Esther's love interest.

Eli- Hard worker, likes Esther but the feelings are not returned, smart and calculating. A great leader to his little group of Bekkah and Till. 

Bekkah & Till- Eli's companions, younger ages. 

Sarah- Esther's sister, overbearing, thinks she's always right, considered an old lady since she is past partnering age, one of the few that can actually read. She has a small past with Levi, the town "leader." 

Levi- "The Source", power holder of Prin, cold hearted and deceiving, has a lot of secrets. Pale and dark haired, considered Prin's leader and came to town at the age of 12. Sarah taught him to read and he broke into "The Source". He has a hatred to Caleb. 

Michal- Levi's partner, young, pretty, acts stupid but is actually pretty smart. 

Slayd- Varient leader, violent and headstrong 

Joseph- Esther's friend, lacks common sense but has knowledge, lives on the outskirts of Prin away from everyone else, has a lot of cats 

Kai- Caleb's toddler son taken by Variants as an infant 

Rafe- "Mayor" of Prin, holds meetings and makes decisions for the town.
